IOWA RUSH NORTH SOCCER

2021-2022 Tryouts

About Select Teams

The Iowa Rush Select Program is a comprehensive approach to developing players and teams. We have a progressive, tangible Player Development Philosophy that is ball focused, player centered and age appropriate. Coaches are guided by a methodology that is sport based and educationally sound, with age group guidelines and curriculum based on national and international concepts appropriate for each age. Tournament selection, scrimmages and league play are selected with ability, gender, travel distance, club goals and collegiate exposure in mind based on each age group. Select players also have access to the following yearly Rush programs and opportunities:

- Rush Fest for 12U boys and girls
International Tour for 14U girls and 17-18U boys
College Advisory Program for 15-19U boys and girls

Why Iowa Rush North?

Here are the top 5 reasons our Iowa Rush North families chose the Rush Soccer family:

1. Compete at the highest level in the area.

At Iowa Rush North, we continue to compete against top teams in the state as well as the Midwest. In just our brief history, Iowa Rush North Select Teams have won countless state and regional tournaments. Most notably in the state, the Iowa Rush North 14U Select Team won the Iowa State Cup title in 2019 (first team in Northeast Iowa to win the State Cup in over 20 years), and went on to compete in the Midwest Regional Tournament in Saginaw, Michigan. We couldn't be prouder of these amazing Select Teams!

2. Coaches are dynamic, educated and care.

Lead by current Upper Iowa Women's Head Coach James Price and former Wartburg Men's Head Coach, Kirk Artist, Iowa Rush North prides itself in attracting and continuing to develop excellent, engaged and experienced youth soccer coaches. Iowa Rush North coaches have played at a higher level and are involved in promoting soccer within our community at every age - from Kicks 4 Kids to high school and college soccer coaching. When not helping develop Iowa Rush North players, you can find our coaches developing soccer programs at Waterloo West, Cedar Falls High School, Wartburg College, University of Northern Iowa, and Upper Iowa University. Needless to say, they care deeply about the development of the game!

3. Facilities and fields are professionally and properly maintained.

In order to train and develop youth soccer players to compete at a higher level, Iowa Rush North believes fields and facilities need to be maintained to a higher level as well. Through a combination of committed volunteers and professionals, Iowa Rush North fields are cut short for a faster speed of play, and complex facilities are kept clean and in working order. We take pride in our great playing fields!

4. Unique player pathways arranged to develop to higher level soccer.

Unique to the Rush Soccer program are our player pathways. Through Rush Soccer, Iowa Rush North players have guest playing opportunities with state cup teams, ECNL teams, and other Rush soccer team across the nation. In addition, Rush soccer players across the nation are invited to attend the 12U Rushfest held in Colorado each summer, and Iowa's Rush players are invited to the Iowa Rush International Trip as well as multiple college recruiting events throughout the year. With Rush Soccer, the sky is the limit for our players!

5. Commitment to our mission of providing an unrivaled experiences for all players.

Finally, all Rush Soccer programs across the nation are committed to our core values (accountability, advice, empathy, enjoyment, humility, leadership, passion, respect, safety, tenacity, and unity) as well as our mission of providing unrivaled experiences for all players.

"Camille made the transition to Iowa Rush North in 2018. She found the staff and players to be competitive and fun. During her time at North she had the awesome experience of winning the State Cup. After discussing her future in soccer with the coaches at North it was decided Camille should transition to playing full time for Rush Central. She found the transition smooth and welcoming. Fortunately, she still had several opportunities to play with her North teammates both in the 2019 Cup and additional tournaments. I would recommend The Iowa Rush program to people interested in high level, player focused soccer."
